The
sound of a ringing brass bell can still clearly be heard on a summer
morning at 7:30 a.m. in the center of the village of Beach Lake.
It is the "ringing bell" being rung vigourously by a waitress
to wake up summer guests at the Central House. The same bell will
be rung again by children at 8:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. to
announce breakfast, lunch, and dinner, just as it has been done each
summer for a century.
